HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has invested nearly $48 million into expanding operations. This expansion will open a new facility in Covington.
“The commonwealth is seeing tremendous growth in its health care and life sciences sectors, providing high-paying, quality jobs for Kentucky residents across the state,” said Kentucky Governer Andy Beshear.
The new facility is creating 69 new jobs in the state, and officials with the Governor’s office say eventually 250 jobs will be created when the lab expands operations. This expansion is expected to take place over eight years.
“I am thrilled to see Thermo Fisher once again choosing Kentucky to locate and expand its business. I look forward to the company’s continued success here in the commonwealth as this investment adds to Northern Kentucky’s economic growth” said Beshear.
