While the Lions and Eagles — and also likely the Commanders, plus the NFC North and South winners — will have their say in the matter, Packers vs. Vikings would be a dynamite NFC championship game. Both teams have been outstanding all year, and while Green Bay can’t win the NFC North, Sunday’s game still carries great meaning for both teams. The 13-2 Vikings remain in the hunt for a division title and the NFC’s No. 1 seed with a win. The 11-4 Packers are 11-0 against NFL teams not currently ahead of them in the NFC playoff picture (Green Bay is 0-4 against Detroit, Minnesota and Philadelphia). If they’re going to the Super Bowl, they’ll have to win a playoff game in at least one of those teams’ home stadiums, so a good measuring stick for the club will be this afternoon’s trip to Minneapolis.
Also closing out the late Sunday afternoon window in Week 17 are the Miami Dolphins, in Cleveland taking on the Browns.
