Scandinavian brand Nocs has announced that its long-awaited Monolith X Aluminum speaker will begin shipping in November. The ultra-compact wireless speaker has been in development for more than a year and it aims to blend minimalist design with audio excellence while being environmentally responsible.
The Monolith X Aluminum includes plenty of innovation while offering the Nocs signature sound in a design that’s both portable and eco-conscious. The casing for the speaker is CNC-machined from a single block of recycled aluminum, then sandblasted and anodized. There is a total output of 225W spread over five speakers.
The company’s CEO, Daniel Alm, says his team has worked tirelessly to refine the Monolith X Aluminum’s sound, ensuring that every detail adds to the tonal quality. Under the guidance of Alm, the team has tuned the Monolith X Aluminum at the company’s in-house Lab in Lund, Sweden.
After endless listening sessions involving tests and measurements, the tuning has been finalized and Nocs is now ready to move forward to mass production. All the parts of the Monolith X Aluminum are replaceable, ensuring the speaker is a cradle-to-cradle consumer product.
The new speaker has been developed alongside artists and DJs. Alms claims it was a profound learning experience for the team and shaped their understanding of sound tuning in unprecedented ways. Each musician working on the development of the Monolith X Aluminum brought a unique perspective to the listening experience.
The company’s collaboration with the music community is at the heart of Nocs’ audio development process. Insights shared by artists and DJs have guided Alm and his team in fine-tuning the Monolith X Aluminum with each iteration refining the tuning techniques. Nocs has used premium components throughout the speaker and offers what it calls “unparalleled sound quality” so listeners can immerse themselves in the music.
Pricing & Availability: The Nocs Monolith X Aluminum will be available in natural silver and matte black finishes and can be pre-ordered from today. The price will be $1,000 / €1000 and shipping starts in November.
