OGC Nice and Olympique Lyonnais have learnt their UEFA Europa League opponents for the upcoming ‘League Phase’ of the competition.
Having finished fifth in Ligue 1 last year, Nice qualified for the Europa League campaign via their league standing, having missed out entirely on European football last season. Lyon, meanwhile, made a miraculous jump from the relegation places in February, to sixth in Ligue 1 by May, meaning that, despite a defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Coupe de France final, they also qualified for the Europa League.
Both Ligue 1 sides discovered their eight opponents for the league phase of the upcoming Europa League campaign during the draw at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco on Friday:
