ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio men’s golf team has added transfer Nathaniel Gray Lamont to the roster for the 2024-25 season, head coach Brennan Whitis announced today (July 9). Gray Lamont comes to the Bobcats with two years of eligibility.
“I am excited to add Nathaniel to the team,” Whitis said. “Adding someone with his experience, talent, and understanding of the game will help us to continue to build our culture and program. Having Nathaniel here will be exciting for our program.”
Gray Lamont comes to Ohio after spending his first two seasons at Eastern Michigan. In his two seasons at EMU, the Guelph, Ontario native has played in 39 rounds and a 75.72 scoring average. Last season, Gray Lamont shot a season average of 75.46 in 24 rounds, while recording his best tournament at the 2024 Mid-American Conference Championships, where he shot 222 9+6) and placed tied for 20th overall.
During his freshman year, Gray Lamont appeared in 15 rounds, notching a 76.13 scoring average, where he finished 35th at the MAC Championships with a 229 (78-73-78). He also shot a career-low round of 68 in the second round of the Loyola Intercollegiate.
Prior to EMU, Gray Lamont posted a scoring average of 69.45 where he notched the high school scoring record for grade 10 and was a three-time district 10 champion
Gray Lamont is the son of Tim Lamont and Melissa Gray. He has two brothers, Isaiah and Nehemiah, and three sisters, Emma, Mattea, and Theadora. He is a fan of the Maple Leafs, Blue Jays and Tottenham Hot Spurs, and in his spare time enjoys fishing, hockey, climbing and snowboarding. Gray Lamont plans to major in business and marketing and aspires to play on the PGA Tour.
