A 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Dingri county, Tibet, near the Nepal border at 9:05 am local time Tuesday, killing at least nine and destroying many buildings, state media confirmed. The US Geological Survey later revised the magnitude to 7.1.
A powerful earthquake in China’s Tibet region on Tuesday killed at least nine people and collapsed “many buildings”, state media reported.
The quake struck Dingri county with a magnitude of 6.8 near the border with Nepal at 9:05 am (0105 GMT) on Tuesday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. The US Geological Survey reported the quake as magnitude 7.1.
