FALL RIVER – Looking to support local students, have fun and eat well?
For the fourth year, the Prince Henry Society Fall River Chapter will host their fundraising Golf Tournament at the Fall River Country Club on Sunday, July 28.
“The scholarship program is one of many programs that the PHS sponsors for the betterment of our local community,” Prince Henry Society Fall River Chapter President David Rocha stressed. “However, our success can only be made possible through the generosity of our sponsors and supporters.”
Barry Ferreira and Joan Medeiros co-chair the event committee.
The shotgun start is at 1 p.m. All proceeds from the event will be used exclusively for the scholarship program that benefits Fall River area students seeking to further their education. This year alone, $19,500 will be awarded to high school students of Portuguese descent.
To participate as a golfer, the cost is $175 and includes a box lunch, 18 holes of golf, and a dinner reception. Current Fall River Country Club members will pay $125.
There are also a number of sponsorships still available. They range from Navigator Sponsor ($2,500 and includes golf for four, dinner for four, a sign with your company logo at practice green or option to display your own company banner at practice green, company logo at each dinner table, and recognition at the dinner reception) to a Tee Sponsor ($150) which includes a sign with your name or company logo at the tee box and recognition at the awards dinner.

These can include scratch tickets, bottles of wine, gift certificates, etc. To contribute to the raffle, email the Society at info@phsfr.org or contact Maria Ferreira-Bedard at SER-Jobs Inc., 508-676-1916, which is a raffle donation drop off point.
For those who do not golf or do not feel that sponsoring is right for them but still would like to participate, a dinner only option is available at $60 per person. Cost includes appetizers, main course, and dessert. A cash bar will be available.
