Natalya is not backstage at the July 1 episode of WWE RAW, according to a new report.
The veteran’s contract has been set to expire, and substantive updates have been few and far between.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Natalya is not backstage at WWE RAW on July 1, and she is not planned for the show. Per Sapp, the two sides have been in talks about an extension. Natalya not being backstage is not an indication of how the talks have gone. The report cites WWE sources who noted that the company has hoped to retain her, but there is no word on a new deal.
Sapp also writes that talent and staff in AEW have pushed for the possibility of Natalya joining AEW if she leaves WWE.
Natalya recently removed WWE references from her Twitter, but they remained in her Instagram profile. The veteran has been with WWE since 2007. She is a former SmackDown Women’s Champion and WWE Divas Champion, among other accolades. She holds several world records for her work in WWE.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
