In addition to the Kentucky Derby and weekly race days, the club announced the return of the Warrior Relay Races, which Gibb says is one of the events that brings in the most spectators.
Gibb added, “Our goal is to become the home of Warrior Relay Racing.”
The club also announced a big new addition to its lineup this year in the Doggy Derby. The event takes place from May 18 to 19, and features Daschund and mixed mini dog races, along with a fashion show, a fundraiser, and a silent auction with proceeds going to the Lethbridge Humane Society.
Gibb says the atmosphere around the Doggy Derby will make it a must-see event.
This year, the Rocky Mountain Turf Club says they have the largest prize purse in their history. The smallest winnings come out to $6,200, while the biggest prize to be won is $25,000.
Information on the 2024 season, and a list of events is at the Rocky Mountain Turf Club website.
