The circus has arrived in Pickering, with the sights and sounds of the ‘Big Top’ now in its second week at the Shops of Pickering City Centre.
The 2024 Royal Canadian International Circus brought its showcase extravaganza of daredevils, aerialists, human cannonballs and high wire acts to town July 4, with shows at the mall all week until Sunday.
This year’s show includes daredevil Joseph Dominik Bauer on the Wheel of Destiny, the Fernandez Riders racing inside the Motorcycle Globe of Death, Leo Garcia the Human Cannonball, plus Guerrero’s High Wire Troupe, Zeman Duo Roller Skaters, Quick Change, Bollywood Aerialists, a Canadian tribute, comedic surprises, acrobatics from Taiwan and more.
And all at a shopping mall.
With the Calgary-based Royal Canadian International Circus, visitors will be immersed in the spectacle of the traditional European Big Top of yesteryear, with all the latest lights, sounds, and action of the modern day.
There will be evening shows at 7 p.m. Monday to Thursday this week, with three shows Friday and Saturday (Noon, 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.) and two shows (1 p.m. and 5 p.m.) on Sunday, the final day of the event.
