The 12-race Indiana Derby day card on Saturday at Horseshoe Indianapolis features eight stakes races. They include a pair of all-stakes Pick 5s with race 10, the General Assembly Distaff, the last leg of the first one and the middle leg of the second that ends with the Indiana Oaks-Derby double.
Even better, Mike Shutty’s Super Screener has identified this race has having “high payoff potential,” which makes sense given none of the short prices on the morning line rank among the Super Screener’s top win contenders, most reliable board hitters, top value or top long-shot plays.
“This race on the Indiana Derby undercard is a spicy option when it comes to wagering return opportunity,” Shutty said. “It scores out with a very robust Super Screener playability score of 8, which indicates a high potential payoff, especially in the exotic wagers.”
You can get 13 weeks of Super Screener plus daily Power Picks and Horses to Single now through Breeders’ Cup for just $99. Each Super Screener includes stakes analysis and wagering strategy for key races throughout the country. This week’s edition features action from Aqueduct, Horseshoe Indianapolis and Prairie Meadows.
Shutty sees the General Assembly Distaff as setting up for Stir Crazy thanks in part to a “faster than par” pace. The Mike Maker trainee has won two consecutive races after going 1-for-11 the previous year.
“She is a late bloomer as those two wins were her two best career performances, and while another move forward is unlikely here, just maintaining her current form would be good enough to win this,” Shutty said. “Her morning line of 8-1 would present more than fair value.”
