What is it: This annual walkathon is a fundraiser for S.U.C.C.E.S.S.’s programs. This year’s goal is to raise $375,000 for the organization’s programs for families, youth, women, and seniors.
Leading the walk is a 100-foot dragon, which is the longest in North America. Participants can choose between the three or seven kilometre walk through Stanley Park.
There’s also a family-friendly fairground with live music, entertainment, activities, giveaways, prizes, carnival games and photo booths.
If you go: The walk and festivities begin at Lumbermen’s Arch in Stanley Park, which is about a six-minute walk from the bus loop.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m.
The live music and entertainment starts at 10 a.m. and concludes at 12:30 p.m.
How to get there: TransLink is a transportation partner for this event. Take transit, walk, or roll as there’s limited, paid parking at Stanley Park.
Ride the SkyTrain to Main Street–Science World Station and catch the 19 Stanley Park bus.
