Queer Canadian music icons Tegan and Sara will be performing at Capital Pride in August.
Capital Pride announced Wednesday that the duo will be taking the TD Main Stage, located at Bank Street and Slater Street, on Saturday, Aug. 24.
“Tegan and Sara are not only queer Canadian musical icons, they’re also steadfast advocates for the 2SLGBTQ+ community,” Capital Pride said on social media. “They launched The Tegan and Sara Foundation in 2016, and received the Humanitarian Award at the Juno Awards in 2024. We’re beyond honoured to welcome them at the Capital Pride festival this year!”
Capital Pride also gave a shout-out to the National Arts Centre “for being our fabulous partner and helping to make this magic happen!”
Tegan and Sara played Ottawa Bluesfest in 2017, and in 2018 the duo received the National Arts Centre award, one of the prestigious Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards.
