A collision that closed Highway 3 for several hours Wednesday was fatal for four people.
On July 10, 2024 at 11:30 am, Keremeos RCMP and BC Highway Patrol and other first responders were called to a crash on Highway 3 near Becks Road in Keremeos, involving two cars and a tractor trailer.
According to police, four adults of an extended family, all from the same vehicle, died at the scene.
No one from the other vehicles was injured.
“This is a terrible tragedy. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased,” said Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen RCMP spokesperson Sgt Jason Bayda in a press release.
“Our thoughts are also with the first responders and members of the public impacted by this incident.”
Traffic incidents increase in the summer as roadways get busier. Police are the public to slow down and stay alert.
Highway 3 was closed for approximately 8 hours.
Police say the cause of the collision remains under investigation, and they will not be providing further details at this time.
