NEW DELHI: The stage is set for the third edition of ET Infra Rail Show to be held in New Delhi, on 26th and 27th June, which will bring together senior officials and stakeholders from the sector, at a point when India’s railways sector is at an inflection point and at the cusp of modern technology adoption.
Members from India’s Railway Board, the apex body responsible for railway infrastructure and policy framework, will grace the event along with senior officials from Japan International Cooperation Agency, officials involved in the conception of Vande Bharat and other senior dignitaries.
As the Interim Budget 2024-25, allocated Rs 2.55 lakh crore for the Indian Railways network, the opening panel’s discussion will explore the ever increasing need for financing the railways, its progress so far as well as the viability of public-private partnerships in a sector which is largely dominated by public sector units.
The first day will also see stakeholders involved in the development of Vande Bharat, Bullet Train and Regional Rapid Transit System, discuss the coming together of the three transport systems almost parallelly. Discussions will be undertaken as to how these three rail systems complement each other and the overall technology spillover from their development to India’s rail sector.

The development of the Dedicated Freight Corridor and its overall impact on India’s logistics and supply chain will be deliberated upon along with discussions around development of smart locomotives and rolling stocks.
The second day of the event will see representation from senior most official from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, who in his keynote address will outline the progress that the network has made so far. The address will be followed by a panel wherein speakers will discuss the progress of metro rail systems in the country and the advent of new-age mass transit systems.
Digitilisation of the railways network as well as developing a green railway ecosystem is also among the themes which will be deliberated upon.
