PALM BEACH GARDENS — TGL, the interactive, tech-infused, simulated golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, debuts Tuesday at the SoFi Center on the campus of Palm Beach State College.
The league will be comprised of six teams of top PGA Tour players competing in a season-long competition. Here is the format.

Each match consists of two teams of three playing 15 holes across two sessions.
Triples, Holes 1-9: Each team of three playing in alternate-shot format.
Singles, Holes 10-15: One-vs-one, head-to-head competition for the entire hole. Each player from each team plays a total of two full holes during this session.
Each hole has a value of one point and the team with the fewest shots on a hole wins the point.
Ties are worth zero points and there are no carryovers.
The team with the most points after 15 holes wins the match.
Each match will be played until all 15 holes are completed, even if the match outcome has been decided. A team’s total number of holes won is a tiebreaker in the SoFi Cup Standings at the end of the regular season.
One team possesses the Hammer to start each match. The team with possession of the Hammer can throw it at any time.
If the Hammer is accepted by the opposing team, the hole value will increase by 1 point.
If the Hammer is declined, then the declining team will lose (or concede) the hole.
A Hammer thrown prior to any tee shots being hit on a hole must be accepted.
The Hammer changes possession when it is thrown, if it is accepted or declined.
The Hammer may be used multiple times during a single hole.
If the match is tied after 15 holes, the teams will play a best-of-three, closest-to-the-pin competition to decide the winner. This will be similar to penalty kicks in soccer.
Overtime takes place on the Green in the short-game area on the field of play. The distance of the shot will be between 25-50 yards and decided pre-match by TGL’s Competition Staff.
The hole location and orientation of the green will remain unchanged from the final hole of the match.
All players will play from the same spot.
The ball must finish on the putting surface to be eligible.
