TPC: Can you tell us how the decision to reschedule the 2024 Travel Market was made?
JC: Postponing the 2024 Travel Market conference was an incredibly difficult decision, but one we made with the safety and well-being of our attendees as the top priority. Hurricane Helene’s arrival in Florida created significant travel disruptions just as our advisors and suppliers were preparing to attend.
Given the circumstances, postponing was the responsible choice. We are deeply grateful for the understanding and support of our Travel Market community, who responded with encouragement and appreciation for the decision. It was heartening to see some attendees even pivot to supporting our Symposium event instead. Our team also demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability, stepping up immediately to handle the challenges and flawlessly adjusting to the unexpected. Their dedication and flexibility were truly inspiring and a testament to the strength of our organization.
TPC: How does this year’s theme tie in with that?
JC: The theme [“Connected”] emphasizes the importance of relationships, community, and unity within the travel industry. Despite the disruption, our advisors, suppliers, and staff demonstrated the power of connection through their unwavering support and understanding.
