Raul Asencio made his La Liga debut against Osasuna by replacing the injured Eder Militao around the half-hour mark.
For someone with no experience in top-flight football, it appeared to be a daunting task for Asencio, who slotted alongside Antonio Rudiger in central defence.
However, it didn’t take long for Asencio to settle into professional football, with the young defender producing an outrageous assist just 12 minutes after his introduction.
Indeed, Asencio produced a killer long-range pass. which broke the lines of the Osasuna defence to find Jude Bellingham.
The Englishman, who has struggled with his finishing this season, made no mistake in finding the back of the net, scoring his first goal of the season in the process.
Bellingham’s goal helped Real Madrid extend their lead over Osasuna, with the reigning Spanish champions leading the game 2-0 at halftime.
Asencio’s goal now will be to maintain Real Madrid’s solidity at the back and keep the Osasuna attackers out in the second half.
Finishing this game on a strong note could go a long way in boosting the youngster’s chances of becoming a key player in the Real Madrid first-team during the second half of the campaign.
