Women’s Basketball Travels to Canada for Atlantic Slam W – Georgetown University Athletics
WASHINGTON. – The Georgetown University women’s basketball team will travel to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island to take on the University of Cincinnati Bearcats and the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles in the Atlantic Slam W Tournament this weekend. The Hoyas will face the Bearcats on Friday and the Eagles on Saturday, with the opening tip in both matchups scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.

About the Hoyas
- Georgetown is 2-1 on the season after downing the Temple University Owls 65-51 on Tuesday evening in a nonconference battle at McDonough Arena, following an 88-31 season opening victory over Virginia University-Lynchburg and a 79-61 defeat at Wisconsin.
- In the Temple game, graduate student Kelsey Ransom led the Hoyas with 28 points to go along with seven rebounds, five steals and five assists.
- Junior Victoria Rivera was second, tallying a career-high 19 points in the contest, while senior Ariel Jenkins managed her first-career double-double posting 11 points and 11 rebounds which was also a career high.
- The Blue & Gray shot 41.8% (23-55) from the field, and allowed the Owls just 27.9% (17-61) shooting.
- Ransom is currently leading the league and ranked ninth in the nation in scoring with 23.7 ppg on the season. Additionally, Jenkins leads the league in blocks per game with 2.67.
- Ransom earned BIG EAST Conference Preseason honors at the league’s annual women’s basketball media day held at Madison Square Garden in New York. The Hoyas were also picked to finish fifth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches’ Poll, receiving 66 points.
- Friday begins a six-game stretch away from home for the Blue & Gray. Georgetown will not be back at McDonough until a matchup with George Mason on December 9.
