Matheus Nunes is making a name for himself in the Manchester City team in the month of October, and he has bagged another goal this evening against Tottenham in the EFL Cup.
While Manchester City donβt often make bad moves in the transfer market, spending upwards of Β£60 million to pry Nunes away from Wolverhampton Wanderers was beginning to look like a mistake as the Portugal international struggled to get a run in the team.
But injuries and a busy fixture list has forced Pep Guardiola into playing Nunes more regularly in the month of October, and the 26-year-old has repaid his manager in a big way.
After scoring late in the first-half to pull City within one of Spurs this evening, Nunes has now played a role in all of the Etihad clubβs last five goals.
To make it more interesting, he is doing it all from out on the left-wing, despite being a natural midfielder.
Has Nunes made himself a true starter for the Premier League champions?
