The England goalkeeper was called on several times in the encounter at the Etihad Stadium, including after Vitalii Mykolenko’s foul on Savinho.early in the second half.
Erling Haaland threatened to retake the lead for the fallen champions from the penalty spot with a solid return of two from his previous three this season.
Fortunately for Sean Dyche’s side, Pickford did his homework on all of City’s potential spot kick takers and dived low to his right to thwart the Norwegian.

It isn’t the first time the stopper has seen his preparation pay off as he racked up the second-highest number of pens saved since moving to Goodison Park in 2017.
