Harry Wilson scored a brilliant brace in added time to stun Brentford and give Fulham a 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage.
Scorers:Β Wilson 90+2′, 90+7′; Janelt 24′
After a relatively even start to the game, Brentford took the lead in the 24th minute with their first shot, and in some style. Vitaly Janelt got the ball under little pressure, and made Fulham pay for their lax defending with a stunning drive from 25 yards that flew past Bernd Leno.
Janelt almost got a second before Emile Smith Rowe really should have grabbed his side an equaliser before half time. Instead, the midfielder’s header went straight at Bees defender Ethan Pinnock, and into the grateful arms of Mark Flekken.
After the break, Fulham dominated the ball but struggled to create many chances, and the ones they did have did not lead to goals due to either poor finishing or Flekken.
Brentford looked like they were to set to hold out for a win that would have seen them into ninth position, but Wilson equalised in the second minute of added time with a brilliant flicked finish from Adama Traore’s cross.
Then in the near final kick of the game, the substitute did it again with another quality finish, looping a header past Flekken to send Craven Cottage into a frenzy.
