After a big derby win last weekend, Milan followed up with an emphatic victory against strugglers Lecce to close in on the top of Serie A.
Scorers: Morata 38′, Hernández 41′, Pulisic 43′
The vibes were high at the San Siro after collecting three points against rivals Inter just five days ago, and those vibes were boosted in the first-half thanks to a superb Milan showing in the dying minutes.
After Lecce played well for nearly 40 minutes, they were overrun by three goals in five minutes for the hosts. After Álvaro Morata scored the opener, the deadly duo of Rafael Leão and Theo Hernández combined down the left for the second just three minutes later.
But Milan’s rampant front-four would not stop there, as Christian Pulisic fired home the third after Tammy Abraham hit the post, blowing away their visitors in a flash.
A late Davide Bartesaghi sending off took some shine off the night for the hosts, but it did little to mute the celebrations as Milan finished off the night with three points in emphatic fashion.
