Manchester United are in talks over appointing Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim as Erik ten Hag’s replacement at Old Trafford, just hours after they parted ways with the Dutchman.
That is according to the reliable David Ornstein of the Athletic, who reveals that the €10m (£8.3m) release clause is not seen to be a problem and that Amorim himself is open to the move, with the clubs working on a deal.
It is added that there is an “expectation [a] deal with Sporting Lisbon can be concluded quickly”, which will likely see Amorim take charge of the Red Devils after the upcoming international break should all go to plan.
Can he be the man to finally return the good times to Old Trafford, or at least get the roof fixed?
