In getting his hands on the honor, he becomes the first ever Charlotte player to win an MLS end-of-season award as well as the first Croatian to do so too.
Over the course of an impressive campaign, he made 121 saves, kept 12 clean sheets and enjoyed a 75% save percentage in his third year in MLS.
He also became the first Charlotte player in history of play every single minute of a 34-game regular season as he helped the club to a top five finish in the Eastern Conference for the first time.
Kahlina is the fourth European shot-stopper to win MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award after Jimmy Nielsen, Vito Mannone and Roman BΓΌrki.
