Arda Guler was one of the Real Madrid players who raised significant concern at the Merengue club during this international break. The young Turk had to leave the pitch in the match against Wales in clear pain as he limped off after a harsh tackle from a Welsh player in the 90th minute of the match.
The midfielder also limped as he left the dressing room after the full-time whistle and ice was also seen being applied on his thigh after his substitution. Thus, Real Madrid were reasonably concerned about the situation of their Kopa Trophy candidate.
However, as MARCA has reported, relevant medical tests on the player have shown that this is not a serious issue and only a scare. Guler will not even have to leave his national team because of this problem and will remain a part of Turkey’s squad for their upcoming game against Iceland.
This will be a source of relief for Carlo Ancelotti and his staff, as the images that came out of the match between Turkey and Wales had them clearly concerned about the Turk’s situation. But with the results of the medical tests, it is clear that Guler will be ready and available for the Italian coach once he returns from his national team duties.
Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham was also reported to be nearing full recovery, and can also be available for the upcoming match against Real Sociedad. Aurelien Tchouameni can also recover in time for this game, and thus Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Ceballos remain the only two absences in the midfield for Ancelotti.
But the Real Madrid coach will face a much more difficult situation in the defence, as Eder Militao suffered a training injury while with the Brazilian national team, and now Ancelotti only has Rudiger and Vallejo as his available options for the centre of the defence.
