Liverpool kick off their Champions League campaign against AC Milan in the first game of the newly revamped group stage of the tournament tonight (Tuesday September 17). And you can watch it ABSOLUTELY FREE in the UK.
The match in the UK will be available on Amazon Prime Video, the first time Liverpool will appear on the streaming platform for a European game. It will be the only Champions League game on the channel, with Aston Villa and Manchester City both being shown on TNT Sports and tonight’s Carabao Cup games being shown on Sky Sports.
Amazon has agreed to show 17 Champions League matches over the course of the tournament, making up one per week, with the rest on TNT. Fans can sign up to a free trial at Amazon here, a video subscription for £5.99 a month here or a full Prime membership at £8.99 a month here.
Amazon’s new Champions League deal includes one game per match week and Liverpool have been chosen as the game for the first week for UK viewers. The match will kick off at 8pm UK time.
Elsewhere the match will be shown on Paramount+ in the US starting at 3pm EST for audiences over the Atlantic. Australian fans can watch the game on Stan Sport, while DAZN has the rights to the game in Canada.
Liverpool travel to the San Siro for the first of eight group games in a revamped format that will see them play seven teams just once with four away and four home games. The top eight will then get a bye to the round of 16 with a further playoff round for the next 16 teams in the league table.
Arne Slot will lead Liverpool for his first Champions League game and will be hoping for a return to winning ways after a shock defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday. He had previously won all three of his games in charge including a 3-0 thrashing of Manchester United at Old Trafford.
