Canadian travellers will be looking to tick destinations off their bucket lists in 2025, according to a new TRAVELSAVERS Canada survey.
The survey was conducted with TRAVELSAVERS Canada affiliated agencies from Oct. 29 and Nov. 16. Its findings highlight the emerging travel trends for 2025.
Participants named bucket-list travel as the top trend, with more and more travellers looking to book “once-in-a-lifetime” journeys. Other emerging travel trends for 2025 include personalized experiences, authentic travel, home-style accommodations, and off-the-beaten-track/exotic travel.
“Today’s travellers are seeking more than just destinations—they’re seeking meaningful experiences,” said Jane Clementino, senior vice president and general manager of TRAVELSAVERS Canada. “The value of travel lies in the memories and connections it creates, and expert advisors are key to crafting those one-of-a-kind journeys that resonate on a deeply personal level.”
The survey also asked advisors their predictions for the top trending destinations for Canadian travellers in 2025. Italy was predicted to be 2025’s most popular destination, as it was in last year’s survey, followed by Portugal, Dominican Republic, Riviera Maya, and Alaska.
In the up-and-coming category, Japan rose to the top slot from fourth place in last year’s survey. The rise of Morocco, which was second, reflects a “growing appetite for the load less travelled,” said the survey release.
“In 2025, the purpose of travel will evolve as travellers will place greater significance on their destinations,” said Clementino. “Their choices will become a reflection of their aspirations—whether pursuing adventure, fostering cultural connections, or embracing self-care and rejuvenation.”
