Cricket Canada recently came forward and announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. The marquee event will be held in the USA and the West Indies and is slated to kick off on June 2. As Canada announced their squad for the event, uncapped batter Kanwarpal Tathgur was picked up in the squad.
It is worth noting that Tathgur has played only eight List A games and will be looking to prove himself on the biggest stage if he is given the opportunity to compete for the side.
Saad Bin Zafar will be leading the side in the tournament, with Thatgur and Shreyas Movva as the wicketkeeper options for the side. The squad also includes the likes of Jeremy Gordon, Junaid Siddiqui, Kaleem Sana, and many more stars. Harsh Thaker, Nicholas Kirton, and Dilpreet Bajwa are the only players aged under 30 on the side.

Tajinder Singh, Aaditya Varadharajan, Ammar Khalid, Jatinder Matharu, and Parveen Kumar have been named as the reserve members of the squad, but only Tajinder will travel with the team.
Srimantha Wijeyeratne, Uday Bhagwan, Nikhil Dutta, and Yuvraj Samra, who played against the USA, recently missed out on the squad. This will be the first time that Canada will be participating in the T20 World Cup, and they will be playing in the tournament opener against the USA in Dallas.
The side has been placed in a tough group as, apart from the USA, India, Pakistan, and Ireland are the other teams in the group, which could make qualification in the knockout rounds quite tough for the side.
