It’s Thanksgiving Day, Windsor, and here’s what you need to know about what’s open and what’s closed across the city.
Recreation, culture and fun
Community centres and arenas will be closed on Monday except for any previously booked rentals or events.
The Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre, Gino and Liz Marcus and WFCU pools will be closed. Adventure Bay water park will be closed.
Lakeview Marina office and fuel dock will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m, and launch ramps will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
All Windsor Public Library locations will be closed on both Sunday and Monday, but some services are available online at WindsorPublicLibrary.com.
The Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House will both be closed on Monday in keeping with their usual hours.
Both Devonshire and Tecumseh Malls will be closed on Monday
City services
The city’s 311 customer contact centre will be closed on Monday, and will reopen on Tuesday at 8 a.m. 311 services are also available online. 211 services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
There will be no residential garbage collection on Monday, so collection will be delayed one day. Overnight commercial, front end loader and weekly recycling collections are not delayed.
The public drop-off and chemical waste depots will be closed on Monday.
Municipal ticket payments offices will be closed. Tickets can still be paid online.
The city’s Homelessness and Housing Help Hub in the former Windsor Water World will be open regular hours, from 8 a.m. to midnight. Residents can call (519) 253-3806 for more information about services.
All Transit Windsor Service will be operating on a Sunday schedule on the holiday Monday, and the customer service office downtown will be closed.
