Horse Racing Tips: Nap of the Day
Ben Linfoot has the Sunday best bets with his Nap in action at Ayr.
REGHEEB – 4.10 Ayr (NAP)
Things could pan out nicely for Archie Watson’s REGHEEB in the Summer Mile Handicap at Ayr on Sunday. The son of New Approach has improved since being gelded and his prominent style of racing could be suited to this race if he gets a nice tow into the contest off Benacre. This is a drop in class from his last two runs and he didn’t shape badly in the Royal Hunt Cup last time out, so he’s worth siding with in calmer waters especially as he is Watson’s only runner on the card (and he has a very good 27% strike-rate at Ayr).
DAMASCUS STEEL – 2.10 Chelmsford
Ed Dunlop has won with four of his last five runners at Chelmsford and DAMASCUS STEEL could be another of his suited by the track in the Bet Boost At bet365 Handicap over the extended 1m5f. The grey son of Mastercraftsman has improved in blinkers on the all-weather and he ran well stepped up to two miles at Kempton last time, so the likely strong gallop at this trip could be ideal under Silvestre De Sousa.
LENEBANE – 2.15 Market Rasen
There was encouragement in LENEBANE’s second over the course and distance last time out and she can land division two of the Tom Halliday Memorial Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle at Market Rasen. Rebecca Menzies’ mare ran her best race of the year here last time out when running on for second and under the same jockey she is expected to take another step forward again now she is tackling a longer trip.
