İlkay Gündoğan has found the net for the first time since making his return to Manchester City against Slovan Bratislava on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old Gelsenkirchen native previously spent a highly successful seven seasons at the Etihad Stadium before moving to Barcelona last summer.
However, he immediately returned during the recent transfer window when he signed a one-year deal with City.
After seven games under Pep Guardiola this season, Gündoğan finally marked his return with a Champions League goal that arrived 568 days after his last.
Gündoğan slotted home from just outside the box with a clean near-post strike past Bratislava shot-stopper Dominik Takac before Phil Foden doubled City’s lead seven minutes later.
Like he never left!
