STORY: :: Iran’s missile attack on Israel sparks strong reaction in Tehran
:: Tehran, Iran
:: October 2, 2024
:: “There had to be a response from Iran, because if we did not respond to Israel, they would continue to invade other countries. If there is war, I would be worried about my children, and on the other hand if we didn’t respond, there would be the possibility they would continue to do more pro-active acts. Overall I’m happy. I’m just worried about my kids.”
:: “I felt so happy and powerful. The fact that we could respond was excellent.”
Iran said on Wednesday (October 2) its missile attack on Israel was over, barring further provocation, while Israel and the United States promised to retaliate against Tehran as fears of a wider war intensified.
Tehran said its assault was a response to Israeli killings of militant leaders and aggression in Lebanon against Hezbollah and in Gaza.
Nearly 1,900 people have been killed and more than 9,000 wounded in Lebanon in almost a year of cross-border fighting, most in the past two weeks, Lebanese government statistics showed on Tuesday (October 1).
