Lauryn Goodman has taken aim at This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on social media.
The 33-year-old appeared on the ITV mid-morning show on Monday to discuss her upcoming appearance on Celebs Go Dating.
However, the conversation soon shifted to her personal life, particularly her past relationship with Manchester City footballer Kyle Walker, who she has known for a decade having been introduced through mutual friends.
The pair share two children, four-year-old son Kairo and one-year-old daughter Kinara, after what sources described as “brief flings.”
In July, the former flames were embroiled in a highly publicised child maintenance court showdown where the England player accused Goodman of displaying “insatiable greed” after a judge ruled in his favour.
Making her first TV appearance since the case, Goodman was asked about the ruling and admitted that she currently has no relationship with Walker, but wouldn’t wish to change what had happened between them.
She explained: “I can’t say I have any regrets because my children are my world. They wouldn’t be here, they wouldn’t be the way they are…”
Drawn on her relationship with Walker – who has four sons with estranged wife Annie Kilner – Goodman replied: “Currently there is no relationship and everything is dealt with through the lawyers, but yeah.”
She added: “It’s really, really difficult because obviously Kairo asks a lot about his dad and he formed that bond with him.
“So, it’s just trying to navigate that I think as best you can, because obviously everyone’s situations are different, and everyone has unique circumstances, but as long as I kind of put them first, then I feel as if my consciousness is clear with that.
“It’s not where I wanted it to go at all, I thought that maybe we’d be dealing with it in private, but it didn’t go that way. In the future, obviously, I hope that we can be amicable for our two children, because obviously they should come first.
“You know, they are beautiful children. It has just been really, really hard to navigate, but I just have to do my best I can for them. I kind of live in this kind of closed off bubble with them. You know, they’re kind of my safe space so we just try to not listen to outside noise.”
She’s set to appear on reality TV dating show Celebs Go Dating with her first scenes set to air on Wednesday.
When probed further by Shephard on why she was appearing on a reality TV show after stating she wanted to keep her children from further spotlight, she added: “I think I’ve always been, ever since I was 23, I’ve been in the public eye but my kids faces are private on Instagram.
“We live a private life in terms of people don’t know what we get up to, but in terms of the spotlight, yes of course, everything’s been thrown into the spotlight.”
However, the E4 star has now criticised the TV hosts for their questioning style, claiming that they had pressed her too much during the segment.
While reaction to her interview was mixed, some viewers coming to her defense, with one supportive fan commenting on Instagram: “They seemed really frosty with you, and the interview felt awkward, but you handled it well considering the questions.
“You looked surprised by Kyle’s statement at the end but kept your composure. Hope you and the little ones are doing well.”
Responding to the support, Goodman shared: “I was taken back it as you can probably tell. Didn’t really think it was necessary and didn’t understand the purpose of it.
“Also, the ‘respect my privacy’ when he’s the one who requested it was all made public. Made no sense to me but again it is what it is. I wasn’t on there to talk about him.
“I was there to talk about me and my children and Celebs Go Dating.”
Replying to another follower who asked if she was treated fairly, she said: “I was on there to talk about @celebsgodating but didn’t really end up being about that.
“Is what it is.”
