Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) mocked former President Donald Trump as she spelled out her Republican bona fides during a Kamala Harris campaign rally in Ripon, Wisconsin, on Thursday.
Cheney, a lifelong Republican who has become one of GOP nominee Trump’s most vocal critics, first recalled sealing envelopes for President Gerald Ford’s campaign, casting her first-ever vote in 1984 for Ronald Reagan, serving in both Bush administrations and her time as the third-highest ranking House Republican.
Then came the zinger:
“So, in other words, I was a Republican even before Donald Trump started spray tanning.”

The line drew applause and laughter from the audience.
Cheney continued, “I am a Ronald Reagan conservative, I believe in limited government, I believe in low taxes, I believe in a strong national defense and I believe that the private sector is the engine of growth of our economy.”
Later she said, “I tell you I have never voted for a Democrat but this year I am proudly casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.”
