The ball runs to Guler on the right-hand edge of the box and he tries the hopeful effort, clipping it first-time towards the far corner, but it sails over.

It’s a free-kick in a dangerous position for Turkey, with Calhanoglu to deliver again. It’s swung in towards the penalty spot, but Verbruggen punches it away, and the Netherlands end up with a throw.

“All rather loud in Berlin, which is largely the Turkey fans, though they haven’t actually had that much to cheer on the pitch. The Netherlands have been the more ambitious and progressive, with Turkey looking to defend deep and counter-attack.”

Good work from both sides as Guler collects the ball and threads it through to Yilmaz. He’s almost through, but van Dijk does well to recover.

Moments later, Simons is the first player in the book after a late challenge.

A chance as Calhanoglu swings in a free-kick, but the connection isn’t clean and the effort goes over.

Bergwijn tries to slide it through to Depay but it’s cut out. Turkey break, and Yilmaz does well to get past van Dijk, but the Liverpool man recovers and it’s a corner.

The Netherlands clear, but Simons has no support on the counter.

Calhanoglu sends a long ball through but Reijnders does well to cut it out. The Dutch attack again, and Kadioglu slides in and wins the goal kick.

Gakpo goes down too easily near the box, and Turkey have possession once more. Good refereeing so far – wish we could say that about the game though.

Yilmaz chases a long ball over the top before sliding a hopeful cross to Yildiz, but the Netherlands clear.

There’s a brief break in play as Gakpo landed on Akaydin.

It resumes with a Turkey attack, but it quickly breaks down and the Dutch counter, though Gakpo loses it.

Frantic but scrappy so far. Lacking quality in the final third, too.

Turkey are doubling up on Gakpo, as you might expect. The Netherlands are having plenty of the ball near halfway, with Turkey happy to sit deeper.
