Meeting of PAK Cricket with PCB chairman (X.com)
Pakistan recently were knocked out of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the group stage of the tournament, and since then, there have been plenty of debates around how Pakistan cricket is degrading and what can be done to improve it.
Now, in a significant step in that direction, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi invited 25 former Pakistan cricketers to discuss the issues hamerping cricket in Pakistan. The likes of Salman Butt, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Yasir Shah and Azhar Mehmood were among the players to attend the meeting, and they have given some important suggestions to improve Pakistan cricket.
One of the most prominent suggestion was to give importantance to domestic cricket and improve the cricket infrastructure in the country. There were also reservations raised about the quality of Pakistan coaches and members of selection committee and recommendations were made to build cricket academies in Peshawar and other cities.
Also, there were discussions on performance of Pakistan in T20 World Cup and quality of pitches in Pakistan.
Overall, the meeting was fruitful, and it would be interesting to see how Pakistan cricket shapes up in the near future after the disaster of T20 World Cup 2024.
