Fans flock to Saratoga Race Course for Opening Day. Some come for a good time. Some come because it is a family tradition.
Besides horses and the jockeys, loyal fans also help make Saratoga Springs the “summer place to be.”
Folks flock to the historic race track every July. Some love the sport. Others love the atmosphere. Then there are the people watchers.
People are so anxious to have some fun that they line up outside the front gate many hours before the racetrack opens.
They bring coolers, binoculars, umbrellas, racing programs and often race to reserve their favorite picnic table or their favorite lucky spot.
Hear from some fans who love opening day, and others who are just experiencing it for the first time, by watching the video of Dan Levy’s story.
