TEMPE – Sun Devil Women’s Tennis head coach Jamea Jackson announced the signing of Karsyn Evans to the team’s 2024-25 roster. Evans recently completed her freshman season at the University of Denver and was part of a team that competed in the NCAA Tournament and won the Summit League.
“Karsyn is a fantastic addition to the women’s tennis on and off the court. She has the heart of a lion and a heart of gold and we are so excited to welcome her to ASU!.” Said head coach Jamea Jackson.
In her first season playing collegiately, Evans posted a 14-2 record in singles play and a 10-7 record in doubles, going 7-1 in her last eight singles matches before missing action in March and April due to injury.
The Texas native is a former five-star recruit and was ranked as high as No. 20 in her recruiting class according to Tennisrecruiting.net. In 2022 she advanced to the semifinals at the J4 Zapopan ITF tournament and won an ITF title in 2021 in Cancu, dropping only two sets the entire tournament. In 2018 as a junior, she placed third at the USTA National Winter Championships in the girls’ 14 division.
The Sun Devils are coming off a year where they made the NCAA Tournament for the 36th consecutive season and are entering a new era Sun Devil Women’s Tennis with the hiring of Jamea Jackson announced on June 4, and entering their first season competing in the Big 12.
