Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool team mates have reacted to his Instagram post following England’s 2-0 win over Finland on Tuesday night.
The 25-year-old won the Player of the Match award for the second time in as many games and has received lots of praise for his England performances.
Up until this point, Trent has never been a nailed-on starter for England but now, under interim boss Lee Carsley, it looks like England fans might be about to see the same elite level from the Reds no.66 as Liverpool fans have.
After being deployed as a midfielder with mixed success by Gareth Southgate in this summer’s Euros it now looks like Carsley is ready to use Trent in his natural position at right back, where he has dominated on the pitch for Liverpool over the past five years.

Following England’s victory, Trent was presented with the Player of the Match award, his second in four days, and he posted pictures of himself with each award alongside a collection of other snaps from the international break.
Some of the Liverpool vice-captain’s team mates have now commented on his post, including out-on-loan winger Kaide Gordon who simply commented: “Shock”.
The Reds skipper Virgil van Dijk was also in the comments with a clapping hands emoji and Virgil’s centre back partner Ibrahima Konaté commented saying: “Again !”.
A number of other current and former Liverpool players liked the post on Instagram, including Anfield legend Steven Gerrard.
Trent has now played in five competitive matches for club and country this season and is yet to concede a single goal.
He is the only member of Liverpool’s back four that can still claim this, but Liverpool’s defensive unit has looked monstrous this season.
Barring the first 45 minutes of Liverpool’s opening fixture against Ipswich Town, when Jarell Quansah played, Liverpool’s back four has consisted mainly of Trent, Virgil, Konaté and Andy Robertson.
Although this back four is familiar to Liverpool supporters, they have already shown an improvement under Arne Slot by keeping three consecutive league clean sheets, something Liverpool hadn’t managed since the 2022/23 season.
Trent is in excellent form and will reunite with his Liverpool team mates on the pitch this weekend when Liverpool look to extend their perfect run against Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday.
